Info secy urges govt officials to learn about legal issues

RAJSHAHI, May 8, 2025 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farjana has said that if the government officials and employees are aware of the legal issues, then it will be easier for them to fulfill their responsibilities.

"The main job of the government employees is to implement the government's policies according to the country's laws. If they are aware of the legal issues, it will be easier for government officials and employees to fulfill their responsibilities," she said.

The secretary was addressing a workshop here today on 'Laws and Strategies Helpful for Case Management' organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at the Rajshahi Circuit House Conference Room as the chief guest.

She said, "If we lose a case, then personal liability comes to us. It is essential to have an understanding of the law to protect from personal liability. If we know about the legal issues related to case management and other works, it will be easier for us to fulfill our responsibilities".

She inaugurated the workshop by joining it virtually from Dhaka. Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Afia Akhtar was present as a special guest at the workshop.

Additional District Judge Masud Parvez, Law Officer of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, conducted the workshop. Additional Secretary of the ministry Farah Shammi also joined it virtually.

A total of 35 officials and employees of Rajshahi PID, district information offices of the department, Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television participated in the workshop.
