ICT seeks help of people to identity 8 July martyrs

DHAKA, May 12, 2025 (BSS) – The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has sought cooperation from all to identify eight July martyrs for the sake of investigation into the matters.
 
The Press Information Department (PID) of the government today published the photos of the bodies with their approximate age, body structure, religion, dress, types of injury and the places from where the bodies were recovered.

The photos are avaialbe on PID website https://pressinform.gov.bd/site/notices/6e19f3e6-5640-4cd9-9455-bd927271fa19.   

Eight general diaries (GDs) were filed with Shahbagh Police Station in these connections.

According to the GDs, every death was ante mortem and homicidal in nature. Two of the bodies have bullet wounds and one has head injuries.

The PID handout said that the Anjuman Mufidul Islam buried 81 unidentified bodies in the Rayerbazar Killing Ground Graveyard after collecting those from the morgue of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) after July uprising.

It has been confirmed through inquiries that eight of them are July martyrs, it said.     

“Identities of the bodies should be determined for the sake of investigation,” it also said.
