To acknowledge the nurses' invaluable contributions, a vibrant rally was held today on the university campus, with enthusiastic participation from senior faculty members, students of the graduate nursing department, and university nurses.

BMU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md Shahinul Alam inaugurated the rally as the chief guest.

BMU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research and Development) Professor Dr Md Mujibur Rahman Hawlader, Treasurer Professor Dr Nahreen Akhtar, and Director (Hospital) Brig Gen Abu Noman Mohammad Mosleh Uddin, among others, were present.

This year’s theme is "Our Nurses, Our Future – Advancement of the Nursing Profession, Economic Prosperity”.

Speaking at the event, Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam emphasized the BMU administration's commitment to enhancing quality standards in nursing education and professional development.

He asserted that ensuring excellence in the nursing profession would enable Bangladeshi nurses to contribute nationwide and internationally.

He highlighted that nurses serve as a beacon of hope for relieving patient suffering, saying that they must continuously develop their skills to uphold the responsibilities of this noble profession.

Shahinul Alam stressed that nursing is more than just a job— it is a globally expanding profession. To meet international standards, nurses must hone their English language proficiency and computer skills, preparing themselves for broader opportunities, he noted.

Following the rally, a scientific seminar and a cultural programme took place at the university's A Block Auditorium, organized by nurses representing various backgrounds.
