Resumption of KUET academic activities demanded

KHULNA, May 12, 2025 (BSS) – Students of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) today demanded immediate resumption of academic activities through a proper investigation into the assault on teachers and the incidents that took place on February 18.

The students made the demand from a human chain formed in front of the university’s Student Welfare Center.

Among others, Mushfiq from the 2019 batch of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Sagar from the IEM Department, Himel from the MSE Department, Subhan from the EEE Department, Rahatul Islam from the 2020 batch of the Civil Engineering Department, and Atik from the CEC Department, addressed during the human chain programme.

Students strongly urged the university administration to resume all academic activities including classes and examinations of the university without further delay.

Speaking at the demonstration, they said, "For nearly three months, all our academic activities have remained at a standstill. Everything has been paralyzed.”

Students are against this situation and they want all academic activities to restart immediately, classes and exams to resume as they want to complete their graduation from the university as soon as possible, they said.

Calling upon the KUET administration, the students demanded strict action against those directly or indirectly involved in the incident and reiterated their demand for justice for the mistreatment of teachers.
