10 DU students get Nurul Islam memorial scholarship

DHAKA, May 13, 2025 (BSS) - Ten students of different departments of 2023-2024 academic year of Dhaka University have received 'Md Nurul Islam Memorial Trust Fund Scholarship' for their outstanding results.

University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan handed over the cheques of the scholarship to the students at a function at the Fourth Class Employee Union office yesterday.

University's Fourth Class Employee Union organised the programme with university Treasurer Dr M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury in the chair.

Pro VC Professor Dr Saima Haque Bidisha and acting registrar Munsi Shams Uddin Ahmed, among others, were present at the event.

The students who received the scholarship are Md Mehedi Hasan (Bangla Department), Ariful Islam Rimon, (English Department), Md Uday Bhuiyan (Management Department), Md Siam Afreedi (Accounting and Information System Department), Md Kalim Ullah (Finance Department), Sumaiya Rahman (Organization Strategy and Leadership Department) Rumana Alam Nishi (Economic Department), Iffat Zerin Parisa (International Relation Department), Afrin Jahan Payel (Public Administration Department) and Afsana Mim (Education and Research Institute)

It is mentionable that late Md Nurul Islam was founder president of Fourth Class Employee Union of DU.
