Stay on highest alert against activities of banned political parties: DMP

DHAKA, May 15, 2025 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali has put the police on the maximum  alert against any activities and sabotage of the banned political parties. 

 “Extreme vigilance should be exercised regarding activities and sabotage of the banned political parties. We should work with utmost professionalism to ensure security and services to the people,” he said.

The DMP chief was addressing a review meeting on monthly crime of  April-2025 at  Bangladesh Police auditorium in Rajarbagh today. 

Mentioning that police is a well-disciplined force governed by laws and rules, he said, “We should elevate ourselves to a unique height in dress, presentation, service and firmness with discharging duties with utmost professionalism.” 
 
He said everyone should keep in mind that there is no scope for any unprofessional behaviour or laxity in the performance of duties. 

“We should be polite in dealings with the people,” he said.

The DMP Commissioner said that each police station should have separate teams to investigate, recover drugs and stolen goods. 

There should be more vigilance in crime control and the rate of case disposal should be increased, he said.

He also said that in the prevailing situation, every member of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police is trying to fulfil the duties assigned to them with professionalism with strong morale.

At the monthly crime review meeting, the DMP Commissioner awarded officers of various ranks of DMP in different categories in recognition to their good works in maintaining law and order, controlling crime and providing public safety in Dhaka Metropolitan City.

Additional Police Commissioner (Admin) Faruk Ahmed spoke on the occasion while Joint Police Commissioner (Crime) Md. Faruk Hossain presented information on the overall crime situation for the month of April. 

Senior officials and officers-in-charge of all police stations of the DMP were present.
