DHAKA, May 15, 2025 (BSS) - The Election Commission (EC) has urged citizens not to be misled by advertisements circulating on social media platforms regarding National Identity (NID) card-related services.

The EC, in a press release today, stated that a large number of fake IDs and pages are circulating advertisements on various social media platforms, luring the public with NID-related services, which are unauthorised.

In fact, various information and video content related to voter list updating and national identity cards are regularly published on these two pages: Bangladesh Election Commission Secretariat (page link http://www.facebook.com/@BangladeshECS) managed by the EC Secretariat and National ID Card (page link http://www.facebook.com/bd.nid) managed by the National Identity Registration Division and IDEA Project (Phase 2).

People intending to avail NID-related services can dial hotline 105, the release said.
