Shahbagh Thana team awarded over quick mystery unearth in Shammo murder

DHAKA, May 15, 2025 (BSS) –The concerned team of Shahbagh Police Station was awarded for unearthing the mystery of the murder of Dhaka University (DU) student Shahriar Alam Shammo and arresting the accused in the quickest possible time.
  
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM  Sazzat Ali has awarded Tk one lakh to the team. He also awarded officers of various ranks of DMP in recognition of their good work in maintaining law and order, crime control and public safety in Dhaka metropolitan city.
 
He handed over awards to police officers in various categories in recognition of their good work in the month of April in a crime review meeting at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh here.
 
In April, Uttara Division was the best among the crime divisions while Uttara West Thana was the best police station. 
 
Ramna Zone Assistant Police Commissioner Md. Abdullah Al Mamun PPM was the best among the assistant police commissioners. 
 
SI (Sub-Inspector) Md. Kabir Uddin of Adabar Police Station and SI Md. Hafizur Rahman of Bhatara Police Station have jointly been judged the best SIs.
 
ASI Md. Aktaruzzaman Mondal Palash of Jatrabari Police Station and ASI Amirul Islam of Mugda Police Station have been jointly selected as the best ASIs. 
 
DB-Ramna Division has secured the best division in the DB while the best among the intelligence departments. Additional Deputy Police Commissioner of DB-Uttara Division's Airport Zonal Team Md. Mahmudul Hasan Chowdhury has become the best team leader and was selected as the best officer.  
 
The best among the traffic departments was Traffic-Uttara Division. The best among the traffic departments were Badda Traffic Zone Sergeant Md. Masud Reza and Wari Traffic Zone Sergeant Suman Mahmud Tanvir. 
 
Senior police officers and officers-in-charge of the DMP were present.
