DHAKA, May 18, 2025 (BSS) - The Cyber Police Centre (CPC) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Bangladesh Police has played a crucial role in preventing the spread of rumours regarding question paper leaks, misinformation, and financial fraud over the SSC examinations this year.

This year's SSC and equivalent examinations were held from April 10 to May 13. According to a press release, the Cyber Intelligence and Risk Management Branch of the CPC successfully prevented the spread of question leak rumours by taking targeted and technology-driven measures.

Various criminal groups usually start spreading rumours of fake question paper leakage on social media such as Facebook, YouTube and TikTok prior to the SSC exams, aimed at misleading students and extorting money through fraud.

In response, the CPC intensified surveillance using advanced technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to detect and disrupt such activities. CPC officials continuously monitored various online platforms to tackle the issue.

As a result, 17 Facebook accounts, pages, and groups, as well as TikTok accounts and YouTube channels linked to the distribution of fake question papers, were identified and closed.

Additionally, efforts are underway to trace the individuals involved in such ill practice by collecting mobile numbers, IP addresses, and other digital evidence.
