DHAKA, May 18, 2025 (BSS) - The 12th edition of the Dhaka University National Model United Nations (DUNMUN-2025) is set to commence on May 29 with the theme 'The Rule of Law Amidst Global Paradigm Shifts: Ensuring Justice, Equality and Accountability'.

The four-day conference will take place at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building of DU campus, organisers told a press conference at the Dhaka University Journalists' Association (DUJA) office today.

This year's DUNMUN, organised by Dhaka University Model United Nations Association (DUMUNA), is expected to bring together over 500 participants from educational institutions across the country and abroad.

The young diplomats will be divided into 11 committees, where they will simulate the roles of international delegates to debate pressing global issues and propose viable solutions.

Nawshin Fatmi, Secretary General of DUNMUN 2025, emphasized the relevance of this year's theme, stating, "As the global order undergoes transformative shifts, the rule of law must remain our anchor. Through this conference, we aim to empower youth to become advocates for justice, equality, and accountability on the world stage."

DUNMUN, first launched in 2012, is the country's pioneering university-based Model UN conference.

Over the years, it has evolved into a premier platform for fostering critical thinking, diplomacy and leadership among young minds.
