Light to moderate rain likely over parts of country

DHAKA, June 2, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecast that light to moderate rain or thundershowers and temporary gusty winds is likely to occur at different parts of the country over the next 24 hours beginning this morning.

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions", said the forecast. 

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.

Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 36.8 degrees celsius jointly at Jashore and Rajshahi and minimum temperature today was 22.2 degrees celsius at Tetulia.

Highest rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded 180 millimeters (mm) at Kutubdia.

The sun sets in the capital at 06-43pm today and rises at 5:11am tomorrow.
