Police held 1,616 in special drives across country

DHAKA, June 27, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 1,616 people with cases and warrants were arrested across the country in the ongoing special police operations in the last 24 hours.

Among the arrestees, 1,060 were wanted in various cases, while 556 others were arrested for other criminal charges, Police Headquarter AIG (Media and PR) Enamul Haque Sagar revealed today.

He said that in the last 24 hours, the police have simultaneously conducted operations across the country and arrested accused and offenders.

Various types of illegal firearms including foreign-made pistols, and other ammunition were recovered from their possessions, the police headquarters official said.
