NU reshuffles ad-hoc committees of educational institutions

DHAKA, June 27, 2025 (BSS) – National University has reorganized the ad-hoc committees of its all colleges and educational institutions dropping the vice-chancellors, pro-vice chancellors and treasurers of public universities. 

People from other professions having reputation in promoting education have been given responsibility for those posts, according to a notification signed by National University College Inspector Md Abdul Hai Siddique Sarkar yesterday.

The notification said the vice-chancellors, pro vice-chancellors and treasurers of public universities and other universities, including those who were serving as presidents or honorary members of the existing ad-hoc committees or governing bodies of colleges or educational institutions, have been replaced and various reputed persons including presidents of the educational institutions concerned have been nominated as presidents or honorary members of the colleges or educational institutions.

Principals were instructed to take necessary measures to ensure that the nominated persons fulfill their duties in their respective positions.

Principals of the colleges and educational institutions concerned were requested not to propose names of the vice-chancellors, pro vice-chancellors and treasurers of public universities and other universities for the posts of president and honorary members of the ad-hoc committees, governing bodies in the private colleges and educational institutions under the National University.
