DHAKA, June 27, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has hoped that the new understanding that has been built between BNP and the Communist Party of China (CPC) will elevate the strategic relations of Bangladesh and China to a new height.

Fakhrul came up with the hope during a visit to the Xi’an suburb of Shanxi Province this morning where he led a high-level BNP delegation.
During their visit, the delegation toured a model community, where they were welcomed by the community committee secretary.

The delegation received an in-depth briefing on the community’s diverse programmes including health services, volunteer efforts, rehabilitation for the disabled and educational initiatives designed to empower local citizens.

The delegation also visited a museum where they observed activities related to presentation of the history of China’s revolutionary struggle and independence before the local children there.

Before departing, senior officials including the Director General of the International Department of the Communist Party of China, bid the BNP delegation a formal farewell at airport.

In his concluding remarks, Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said:"Through this visit and the strengthened ties with the Communist Party of China, we are taking our relationship with China to a new level. It will benefit both our nations."

The high-level BNP delegation, led by its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, left here for China on June 22 at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
