DHAKA, June 28, 2025 (BSS) - Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives and Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain has emphasized the government's efforts to channel Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds into sports sponsorship.

"The government is working on the process of spending a specific part of the CSR fund on the sponsorship of sports. Not only banks but also other corporate institutions that have rules for CSR are working with the high level of the government to make sports mandatory," he told the inauguration function of the Mymensingh Divisional Tennis Competition-2025 at national Tennis complex in the capital as the chief guest on Friday.

CSR contributions will become crucial in supporting the growth and sustainability of sports in Bangladesh, he stated.

The adviser also shed light on the government's ongoing push for decentralizing sports activities, which he explained would help nurture talent at the grassroots.

Asif also announced that the interim government had taken a significant step toward enhancing sports infrastructure with plans for the establishment of a National Sports Institute.

The activities to establish the National Sports Institute are progressing, he said, adding that if this institute is established, advanced level training can be provided to potential players.
