Honorary Degree for Begum Khaleda Zia proposed in JU Senate session

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, June 28, 2025 (BSS) - A senate member of Jahangirnagar University (JU) proposed to confer an honorary degree on former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

The demand was made during the 42nd Senate session tonight at the Senate Hall of the university. 

Senate member Sabina Yasmin, representing the Registered Graduate category, raised the demand citing Khaleda Zia's political contributions and national leadership. 

"In recognition of her political legacy and service to the country, JU should consider awarding her an honorary degree," she said.
