Reception to be accorded to families of martyred journalists: Info Sec

DHAKA, June 29, 2025(BSS) - The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will accord reception, give donation and gifts to the family members of the martyred journalists in observance of July Mass Upsurge anniversary.

These decisions were taken at a meeting held recently at the ministry with its Secretary Mahbuba Farzana in the chair, an official release said here today.

On this occasion, a premier show of a film 'Shrabon Bidroho' produced in memory of July Mass Uprising, will be screened at National Museum on July 5, the release said, adding that the film will also be screened across the country and foreign missions of Bangladesh simultaneously.

Besides, films on July Uprising, deco-films and documentaries will also be screened at the Mass Communication Directorate, Bangladesh Film Archive and four universities of the capital. On the other hand, an international seminar will also be arranged on the occasion of the July anniversary.

Special features, articles and supplements will be published in national dailies from July 5 to August 5 in observance of the anniversary. Highlighting the importance of July Uprising, banners and billboards will also be set up, photo cards, posters and festoons will be printed and distributed across the country. Publication ceremony on July Uprising, photos and graffiti's will also be displayed on this occasion.

A colourful rally with the participation of officials of the ministry and its directorates, departments and agencies will be brought out in the capital and Quran Khwani, Doa Mahfil and discussions will also be held.
