DHAKA, June 29, 2025 (BSS) - National University (NU) will offer ‘July Martyred Memorial Scholarship’ for the students of different colleges under the university.

The scholarship will be offered in memory of the martyrs of anti-discrimination students’ movement in July and August last year, according to an office order of the university today.

Chief Adviser Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus will distribute the cheques of scholarship of the NU at his office in the city’s Tejgaon area on July 1.

Besides, he will also inaugurate the 36-day long July memorial programmes from July 1 to August 5 marking the July uprising anniversary.

Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar and others private media will telecast the inaugural programme live.

The university has decided to introduce the ‘July Martyred Memorial Scholarship-NU’ to make the martyrs as ‘unforgettable’ and inspire the students with patriotism by highlighting their sacrifice.

The martyrs have sacrificed their lives during the uprising of July-August and set up a glorious example of patriotism in a crucial time of the country.
