DHAKA, June 29, 2025 (BSS) – In a bid to resolve the ongoing deadlock at the National Board of Revenue (NBR), the government has constituted a five-member adviser-level panel to mediate the crisis triggered by the work abstention of revenue officials.

The committee, headed by Energy Adviser Fouzul Kabir Khan, has been tasked with addressing the concerns of the agitating officials and bringing an end to the ongoing crisis swiftly, according to a statement issued by the Cabinet Division.

The other members of the panel include Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, Labour and Employment Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) M Sakhawat Hussain, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan and Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin.

The revenue officials have been abstaining from work to press home a set of demands, resulting in significant disruption in revenue operations.

The committee has been formed to resolve the crisis fast, the Cabinet Division said in its statement.
