NAOGAON, July 5, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam today said that the country must be rebuilt through several principles such as justice, reform and the fresh constitution.

"Justice, reform and the constitution are our main demands. The country must be rebuilt through these principles," he said during a brief rally in Naogaon this evening.

The 'July Padayatra' campaign reached Naogaon district today as part of its nationwide program. Party leaders and activists held a procession through the district town before gathering for a rally, where Nahid addressed supporters and locals.

Reflecting on the nation's history, Nahid said, "We achieved independence in 1971, but that independence has since been lost and we have not been able to enjoy its true benefits. We will not allow the independence of 2024 to be lost in the same way."

Explaining the origins of the party, he added, "We were compelled by the demands of the time to form a political party. The youth of Bangladesh, born out of the mass uprising, has emerged as an alternative leadership force."

"We are committed to protecting our independence and only then can the sacrifices of the martyrs of the uprising be honored with full dignity," he added.
