Hill fruit fair showcases culture, promotes organic tradition: Supradip

DHAKA, July 5, 2025 (BSS) - Adviser to the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Supradip Chakma has emphasized the cultural and spiritual significance of the Hill Fruit Fair, calling it more than a mere commercial venture.

Speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the five-day Hill Organic Fruit Fair, held at the Chittagong Hill Tracts Complex on Bailey Road, he said, "The Hill Fruit Fair is not just a commercial event-it is a spiritual connection between city dwellers and the life of the hills."
 
"The people of the Chittagong Hill Tracts are rooted in natural food habits and organic fruits are a part of our heritage. This fair showcases that tradition," he added.

The fair attracted wide participation and featured a variety of organic fruits and produce cultivated in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, aiming to raise awareness of healthy food habits while promoting economic opportunities for local farmers, he said.
