Light to moderate rain likely across country

DHAKA, July 7, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecast that light to moderate rain is likely to occur at six divisions and many places over northern region and moderately heavy to very heavy falls over parts of southern region of the country. 

According to BMD bulletin issued this morning, "Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and at many places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions."
 
It added that moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur at places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions.

Day temperatures may fall slightly over the southern part of the country and remain nearly unchanged elsewhere. Night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged across the country.

The highest temperature on Sunday was recorded at 35.8 degrees Celsius in Srimangal, while the lowest temperature today was 23.8 degrees Celsius in Sylhet.

The highest rainfall in the past 24 hours till 6:00 am today was recorded at 146 millimeters in Cox's Bazar.

In Dhaka, the sun will set today at 6:50 pm and rise tomorrow at 5:17 am.
