NARAYANGANJ, July 7, 2025 (BSS) - Education Adviser Prof Dr Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar today said the student community brought liberty for the people through the July mass upsurge.
“We had no rights in our own country and became subjects of the nation,” he said while addressing a function at Gakul Dasherbagh under Bandar upazila of the district here.
“We want to begin such a moral and humane based education system, which will help students build themselves as skilled force,” he said, adding that there is no alternative to technical education and the technical students will be the architecture for building a new Bangladesh.
He said technology based education should get priority to match up with the global system as well as with job market. The existing Madrasha education will have to be modernized based on the technology, he added.
Recalling the contributions of the anti-discrimination movement, Prof Rafiqul Abrar said, “July is our pride as we have got back our rights through July upsurge. The government has already instructed all the educational institutions to arrange programmes on July movement to memories the July martyred. Everyone should cooperate with the injured of July movement”.
The state has been doing its maximum for the July warriors and people from all walks of life should stand by the martyred families and injured people, Dr Abrar said, adding that the future democratic political government would reform the society to fulfill the dream of the common people.
Among others, Deputy Commissioner of Narayanganj Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah and its Police Super Prottus Kumar Majumder were present at the function.
