Three dengue patients die, 492 hospitalized in last 24hrs

DHAKA, July 7, 2025 (BSS) - Three dengue patients died and 492 have been hospitalized across the country in the last 24 hours till this morning.

"During the period, 154 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division while 51 were hospitalized in Chattogram, 69 in Dhaka division, 36 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 53 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 54 in Khulna, 10 in Mymensingh, one in Sylhet, three in Rangpur and 61 were admitted to different hospitals in Rajshahi division," said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of cases rose to 12,763, while 48 deaths from dengue, the mosquito-borne disease, were reported this year.

During the last 24 hours, 411 patients were discharged from different hospitals across the country.

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214, while 575 deaths from the dengue disease were reported, the statement added.
