DHAKA, July 7, 2025 (BSS)- Youth and Sports adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan has announced a cash reward of Taka 5 million (Taka 50 lakh) for the Bangladesh women's national football team which created a history securing a qualification in the AFC Asian Cup for the first time.

The remarkable feat came after a brilliant 2-1 win over a much higher-ranked Myanmar at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon on Wednesday.

While the crucial win significantly boosted Bangladesh's chances of progressing, the confirmation of their qualification only came later in the day when Turkmenistan and Bahrain played out a 2-2 draw, leaving Bangladesh fans in delirium.

The Women's football team returned home today in the quiet hours of early morning. The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) officials welcomed the girls at the airport.

Later, the girls were taken to the Hatirjheel Amphi Theatre where they were given a warm reception.
