NLASO provide services to 18,85,28 persons through call centre

DHAKA, July 8, 2025(BSS) - The National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO) has provided legal help to 18,85,28 people through its toll free call centre from 2009 to May this year.

The information was revealed in the website of the legal aid organization, official sources said here today.

The services were introduced for the poor and insolvent people at district levels but it later begun through a toll free call centre (16430), all prisons and Workers Legal Assistant Cells in Dhaka and Chattogram.

Dr Md Rezaul Karim, Public Relations Officer of the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry told BSS that the toll free call centre was introduced in 2016 and a total of 1,88,328 people received legal services from the call centre till May this year.

Before introducing the toll free call centre, the number of people receiving legal assistance was only 17,328, Dr Rezaul added.

The NLASO has been providing legal assistance to the poor and insolvent justice seekers of the country under the supervision of the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry.
