DHAKA, July 9, 2025 (BSS) – The High Court (HC) today declared the order of removal of Deputy Assistant Director (DAD) of the Anti- Corruption Commission (ACC) Md Sharif Uddin illegal and ordered to reinstate him in the job with seniority and all benefits.

A HC division bench comprising Justice Md. Rezaul Hasan and Justice Biswajit Debnath passed the order upon the final hearing of the petition of Sharif Uddin.

Sharif was removed from his job three years back on February 16 in 2022 without serving any prior notice.

He later filed the writ petition on March 13 in the same year challenging the legitimacy of rules 54 (2) of the Anti-Corruption Commission (Employees) Service Rules 2008 and seeking his reinstatement in the job.

Following the petition, the HC on February 6 last year issued a rule asking as to why the removal of Sharif from the ACC job will not be declared illegal and why he will not be reinstated in the job with salary and all benefits.

The respondents including the ACC have been asked to give answers against the rule.

Senior lawyer Barrister Md Salahuddin Dolon and Advocate Mia Mohammad Ishtiak moved the apex court on behalf of Sharif while senior lawyer Advocate Asif Hasan for the ACC.

Talking to journalists Barrister Salahuddin Dolon said the HC announced the removal of Sharif Uddin from ACC jobs illegal and ordered to reinstate him in the job by 30 days with seniority and all other benefits.
