DHAKA, 9 July, 2025 (BSS) - The eighth commission meeting of the Election Commission (EC) is going to sit tomorrow, regarding four issues including the Representation of the People Order, 1972 (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, and the Election Commission Secretariat (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025.
This meeting of the commission is scheduled to begin at the meeting room of the EC at 11 am with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A M M Nasir Uddin in the chair, according to EC sources.
The agenda includes the Representation of the People Order, 1972 (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025; the Election Commission Secretariat (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025; the Election Officer (Special Provision) Act, 1991 (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025; affidavits provided by candidates along with nomination papers; re-delegation of administrative and financial powers to officials of the Election Commission Secretariat; and miscellaneous .
