All must work for a new Bangladesh: Nahid

KHULNA, July 11, 2025 (BSS) - Convener of the National Citizens' Party (NCP) Nahid Islam has said that the July uprising was a dream of building a new Bangladesh.
 
"To realize that dream, all must work. July uprising was a movement against extortionists and political bankruptcy, but today, once again, the rampant rise of extortionists is being seen across the country" he said.

"While we are marching in Khulna, a businessman is being beaten to death in the capital Dhaka over extortion demands," he told a street rally at Khalishpur people's road premises tonight.

"The July movement was not carried out with such expectations," he said adding that the Awami League had destroyed the heritage of Khulna's industrial zone by shutting down mills and factories and building a power plant in Rampal that endangered the Sundarbans.

He also urged the people of Khulna to attend the July Declaration event in Dhaka on August 3.

NCP central leaders, including Akhtar Hossain, member Secretary Nasir Uddin Patwari, Tasnim Zara, Hasanat Abdullah, Sarjis Alam and Nusrat Tabassum also spoke.
