DMP bans rallies around CJ's residence, SC, ICT from tomorrow

DHAKA, July 13, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on holding all kinds of gatherings around the residence of the Chief Justice, Supreme Court (SC) and some other important places in the capital city, effective from tomorrow until further order. 
  
DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali in a public notification issued today said ,all types of meetings, rallies, mass gatherings, processions, human chains, sit-in strikes, processions, etc. have been banned in front of the official residence of the Chief Justice, Justice Bhaban, Judges Complex, the main gate of the Bangladesh Supreme Court (SC), Mazar Gate, Jame Masjid Gate, the entrance gate of International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) 1 and 2, and the Judicial Administration Training Institute building from tomorrow. 

The DMP Commissioner imposed the restriction by virtue of the powers vested in Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76) in the interest of maintaining public order.

He has also requested all concerned not to obstruct traffic by blocking roads in the name of various demands and protest programs.
