Two more remanded in Sohag killing case

DHAKA, July 13, 2025 (BSS) –A court here today placed Alamgir and Monir, arrested over the gruesome killing of scrap metal trader Lal Chand Md Sohag in Dhaka's Mitford area, on a four-day remand each .

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sefatullah passed the order as police produced the duo before the court and pleaded to place them on a seven-day remand each.

Separate courts on July 10 had placed Mahmudul Hasan Mahin on a five-day remand and Titon Gazi on a five-day remand on July 12 respectively in the case.

Earlier on July 9 last, Lal Chand Mohammad Sohag, 39, was hacked, beaten and stoned to death near a gate of Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital. 

His sister Monjuara Begum filed the case the next day.
