July Uprising Day observed in Islamabad

DHAKA, Aug 05, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad today observed the July Uprising Day with due solemnity, paying tribute to the martyrs and expressing solidarity with their families.

The day's programme began with the hoisting of the national flag by High Commissioner Md Iqbal Hossain Khan, said a press release.

The observance featured the recitation from the Holy Quran, a one-minute silence in memory of the martyrs and the reading out of messages from the President and the Chief Adviser.

Speaking on the occasion, the High Commissioner stressed the need for collective efforts to eliminate all forms of discrimination from state-run institutions.

A documentary highlighting the events and significance of the July Uprising was screened during the programme. 

Officials and employees of the mission, members of the Bangladesh community in Islamabad, and local Pakistanis were present.

Special prayers were offered seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of the martyrs and continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation, the release added.
