DHAKA, Aug 5, 2025 (BSS) – Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today called upon the voters to take preparations to elect the best candidates in the upcoming parliamentary polls.

In his televised address to the nation this evening marking the July Mass Uprising Day, the CA urged the people to rise to the historic responsibility of shaping a “new Bangladesh” through active participation in the election process.

“Let us successfully pass the first big test of building a new Bangladesh,” he said adding “Elections are coming...If you live far from your constituency, visit it regularly from now on, so that you are ready to elect the best person.”

Referring to the sacrifices made by the students and masses during the 2024 uprising, Dr Yunus reminded citizens of the price paid to reclaim the right to vote.

“Before casting your vote, let the faces of those whose blood restored this precious right shine before your eyes,” he stated.

He emphasized that the window for preparation is short, warning: “February is not far away. As soon as we begin preparing, the election will be upon us.”

“For many years, we were denied our right to vote. This time, we all will vote—every single one of us. Let us all say: I voted to put this country on the right path. It was my vote that enabled Bangladesh to begin again.”
