July Uprising Day observed in Washington

WASHINGTON DC, Aug 6, 2025 (BSS) - The July Uprising Day was observed at the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, DC, USA.

The program began with the performance of the national anthem yesterday, said a press release received here today.

Acting Ambassador DM Salahuddin Mahmud paid tribute to all the martyrs of the July Uprising and urged everyone to fulfill their respective responsibilities in building a discrimination-free, corruption-free, and prosperous Bangladesh.

At the event, one minute of silence was observed in deep respect for the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to end fascist rule and return Bangladesh to a democratic path, bringing about qualitative changes in the social and state structures and eliminating discrimination.

During the event, the messages of the President and the Chief Adviser were read out.

Later, a documentary on the July Uprising was screened. Prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the departed souls of all the martyrs of the July Uprising and for the speedy recovery of the injured.
