Two insolvent DU students awarded Tk 50,000 as scholarships

DHAKA, Aug 7, 2025 (BSS) - Two insolvent students from separate departments under the Faculty of Social Sciences at Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded Tk 50,000 as scholarships. 

The scholarships were granted from the 'Md. Munirul Islam and Shamsunnahar Begum Trust Fund', established at Dhaka University to support financially disadvantaged students, a press release said.

The award ceremony took place today at the Vice-Chancellor's conference room where Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan attended the event as the chief guest.

He handed over the scholarship cheques to the recipients.

The scholarship recipients are Md. Subhan Ali Hridoy, a first-year student of the Department of Public Administration and Md. Sihab Pradhan, a first-year student of the Department of Population Sciences.
