KU students ranked 2nd in South Asia at Youth Voice Competition

KHULNA, Aug 7, 2025 (BSS) - A student team from Khulna University (KU), named "Sol-Agro", has recently achieved remarkable success on the international stage, said a press release issued by KU Public Relations Division.

Working on sustainable energy and climate-resilient agriculture, the team secured second place in South Asia in the 2nd ICETS-ESCAP and 3rd ICETS Youth Voice Competition, held in Chengdu, China and Bangkok, Thailand.

Out of 236 participating teams worldwide, Sol-Agro made it to the top 36. Their project demonstrated how renewable energy can be used to make electricity consumption in agriculture more sustainable. They also highlighted ways to improve the lives of people affected by climate change.

On Thursday, the Sol-Agro team met with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim, who congratulated them on their achievement and wished them continued success in the future.

The Sol-Agro team members are - Md. Rezwanul Islam Shuvo, Antara Das, Sabbir Ahmed and Sadia Ishrat Nisa, the press release added.
