High Dependency Unit (HDU) launched at RCMCH

RANGPUR, Aug 8, 2025 (BSS) - A High Dependency Unit (HDU) has been launched 
at Rangpur Community Medical College and Hospital (RCMCH) in the city, 
ushering in a new era in healthcare for the people of northern region.
 
Rangpur Divisional Director (Health) Dr Md Gausul Azim Chowdhury inaugurated 
the state-of-the-art HDU by cutting the ribbon as the chief guest at a 
colorful ceremony held at RCMCH, a subsidiary of Rangpur Group, on Thursday 
afternoon.
 
Managing Director of Rangpur Group Md Nazmul Ahsan Sarker presided over the 
function.
 
High officials and specialist cardiologists and expert physicians of RCMCH, a 
world standard private sector hospital in the country's northern region, were 
present at the function.
 
On the occasion, Nazmul Ahsan Sarkar said that the HDU is equipped with 
modern medical equipment and life support systems to provide enhanced care 
for patients requiring a level of monitoring and treatment between a regular 
ward and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
 
The HDU is designed to bridge the gap between general ward care and intensive 
care, offering a higher level of monitoring and treatments for patients who 
are not yet stable enough for a regular ward but do not require the full 
intensity of an ICU. 
 
"The HDU is part of RCMCH's ongoing efforts and commitment to expand its 
comprehensive healthcare services and improve patient outcomes by bringing 
world standard medicare services and treatments to patients at low costs," 
Nazmul added. 
 
Highly appreciating the initiative of RCMCH and its high quality medical 
services, Dr Md Gausul Azim Chowdhury called on all private sector hospitals, 
clinics and other health services providing facilities to ensure quality 
services to the patients.
