MoU between NU and NUSDF signed to enhance students' skills

DHAKA, Aug 9, 2025 (BSS) - National University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National University Skilled Development Forum (NUSDF) to boost the employability and capacity of its students.

The MoU was signed today at the National University's city office in the capital's Dhanmondi.

Acting Director of the International Desk of National University Dr Raj Bin Kasem and NUSDF President Riaz Hossain signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides - in the presence of NU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr A S M Amanullah.

According to the agreement, NUSDF will provide job-oriented training to students of National University affiliated colleges, focusing on Information Technology areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Data Science, Web Development, and Freelancing.

Before the signing ceremony, NU VC Prof Amanullah said the university has been taking various measures to ensure students do not remain unemployed after higher education.

"The university has already signed agreements with several public and private stakeholders including the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, National Skills Development Authority, Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC), North South University, Coalition Development Communication Society, UNICEF Bangladesh, among others, and now NUSDF," he added.

He called on NUSDF to extend its training programmes beyond Dhaka to remote areas of the country to meet the needs of students in those regions.

Prof Amanullah further added that National University would support NUSDF in providing various skill development training to affiliated college students.

NU Media Advisor Gautam Barua, UNICEF Bangladesh Consultant Istanul Kabir, NUSDF Vice-President Zahidul Hossain, and General Secretary Tafhim Awal Majumdar Priscilla were present during the signing, among others.
