Youth should be prepared in achieving global industrial expertise: Education Adviser

DHAKA, Aug 10, 2025 (BSS)- Education Adviser Professor Dr. C. R. Abrar said today that the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Implementation Plan for 2025 is a milestone for the country, aiming to transform the TVET sector into a globally competitive, inclusive, and advanced workforce development system.

The education adviser made this remark as the chief guest while inaugurating TVET implementation Plan 2025-2030 at Hotel Inter-continental here today.

The Technical Education Department, Technical and Madrasha Education Division of the Education Ministry organized the function.

Several European countries including Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are interested in recruiting skilled manpower from Bangladesh.  

“Simultaneously, the demand of TVET graduates is increasing for the local industrial sector and quick automation, smart manufacturing and service sector,” he said. 

The youth should be prepared in achieving global industrial expertise in fulfilling this demand emergency basis, he added. The TVET implementation planning of 2025-2030 is consistent with the recommendation of the white paper.

The recommendations include strengthening the relationship between training academies and industry, ensuring access for women and marginalized communities, incorporating green and digital skills, and providing demand-based training for both local and international labor markets.

The adviser also urged the development partners to provide technical support for implementing the plan.

The Education Adviser also instructed the prompt formation of a multilateral national working group, local implementation of the plan, finalization of planning activities for the current fiscal year, and the establishment of a strong accountability system. Additionally, the adviser directed the Technical Madrasa Education Department to formalize the plan academically, recognizing it as a national commitment.

He said the timeframe is five years, but the responsibility is big, mentioning that if it is implemented properly it will change the life of several lakhs youth.

The head of the European delegation in Bangladesh Edwin Koekkoek also spoke at the function as the special guest.
