DU VC mourns death of retd Prof M Kismatul Ahsan

DHAKA, Aug 14, 2025 (BSS) - Vice-chancellor (VC) of Dhaka University (DU) Professor Dr Niaz Ahmad has expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of retired Professor Dr M Kismatul Ahsan.

In a condolence message, the VC said: "The late Prof Dr M Kismatul Ahsan was a talented teacher and researcher. He had performed important responsibilities in academic and administration areas including education and research."

The VC prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

His namaz-e-janaza was held at Business studies faculty premises at 10am today.

Later, he was buried at Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in the city's Rayer Bazar area.

Dr M Kismatul Ahsan, retired Prof of Finance Department of the Dhaka University, died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at a city hospital at the age of 65.
