252 more dengue cases reported in 24 hours across country

DHAKA, August 14, 2025 (BSS) — A total of 252 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the past 24 hours, according to a press release issued today by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). 

Of the newly hospitalized patients, 38 were reported in Dhaka North City Corporation and 51 in Dhaka South City Corporation. 

Outside the capital, Barishal division recorded 65 new cases, followed by Dhaka division (32), Chattogram division (25), Rajshahi division (16), Khulna division (14), Mymensingh division (6) and Rangpur division (5). 

During the same 24-hour period, 270 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals. This brings the total number of recoveries this year to 24,200. 

So far in 2025, a total of 25,576 dengue cases have been confirmed. Of these, 58.9 percent are male and 41.1 percent female.

The official death toll from dengue this year remains at 104, with no new fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.
