SIRAJGANJ, Aug 17, 2015 (BSS) - Students have welcomed the approval of permanent campus project of Rabindra University by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC).
Students, teachers and staff of the university today broke their hunger strike and celebrated the occasion when they heard about the approval of the project at the ECNEC meeting.
At that time, Rabindra University Pro-Chancellor Dr Suman Kanti Barua offered water to the students who were on hunger strike.
The students, teachers and staff expressed their gratitude to the government.
The ECNEC meeting, chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, approved 11 projects, including the one for the establishment of a permanent campus of Rabindra University.
Earlier, Rabindra University students had staged a protest by boycotting the University Day on July 26 demanding a permanent campus. Rabindra University students started an indefinite hunger strike from Saturday.
