JCD announces RU, hall committees

RAJSHAHI, Aug 17, 2025 (BSS) - The central committee of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has approved a 113-member committee for Rajshahi University (RU), while partial committees have also been formed for 11 student dormitories of the university.

The committees were published on the JCD Central unit's official Facebook page on Saturday night, signed by President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir.

In the RU unit, Sultan Ahmed was named president and Sarder Jahurul Islam general secretary. 

Sakilur Rahman, Shafiqul Islam and Mahmudul Mithu were made senior vice-president, senior joint general secretary and organizing secretary respectively.

The committee also includes 25 vice-presidents, 28 joint general secretaries and 23 assistant organizing secretaries. 

Other key positions are: Ar Rafi Khan as publicity secretary, Mehedi Hassan as sports secretary, Zannatul Ferdous as female student affairs secretary, and Shakhawat Hossain as legal affairs secretary.

Partial committees have been formed for 11 halls, though female student hall committees are yet to be announced.

Zubayer Hossain and Mosharraf Haque were made president and general secretary of Shah Makhdum Hall, while Abdullah Al Mobarak and Rezwanul Islam took the same positions for Shaheed Sohrawardi Hall, and Maruf Hassan and Khalid Mahmud for Sher-E-Bangla Fazlul Haque Hall. 

For Bijoy Hall, Gazi Ferdous Hassan and Badiuzzaman Rakib were made president and general secretary, with Tanveer Hassan and Saik Rahman for Madar Baksha Hall and Reazul Islam and Saimun Ibne Aron for Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hall. 

Habibul Bashar Prince and Imran Hossain Khan were named president and general secretary of Shaheed Habibur Rahman Hall, Hasim Rana and Abdullah Al Nishat for Matihar Hall, Mehedi Hassan Biswash and Zunayed Ahmed for Syed Amir Ali Hall, Murad Hossain and Mridul Hossain for Nobab Abdul Latif Hall,and Mehedi Hassan and Sabuj Shahriar for Shaheed Shamsuzzoha Hall.

The hall committees have been instructed to announce full committees within the next seven days.
