Rain likely across country

DHAKA, Aug 22, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department today predicted rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty wind over the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am.

“Light to moderate rain/thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal & Chattogram divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh & Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Khulna, Barishal & Chattogram divisions,” said a Met office bulletin issued this morning.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the bulletin said.

The highest temperature on Thursday recorded 33 degree Celsius in Ishurdi under Rajshahi division and Kumarkhali under Khulna division, while today’s minimum temperature was 23.9 degree Celsius in Sylhet.

The sun sets at 6:26 pm today and rises at 5:37 am tomorrow in the capital.
