Elderly woman's body recovered in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Sept 6, 2025 (BSS)- A body of a 70-year old woman was recovered from a bush hole at Hasanpara village under Dhaperhat union of Sadullapur upazila here this noon.

The deceased is identified as Momtaz Begum, wife of Badsha Munshi of the village. 

Family sources said Momtaz Begum went missing on Friday morning. Since then her relatives had been searching for her at different possible places where she could stay but failed to trace her, they added.
 
On Saturday morning, locals found her body in a nearby jungle in an abandoned condition and informed the police instantly. 

Later, the police of Sadullapur thana rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Gaibandha General Hospital morgue. 

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadullapur thana Taaz Uddin said the body of the woman had been kept there after killing her. 

Four suspects including her sons Gafur, Nur Alom and Sojib and neighbor Mukul have been detained and brought to thana for interrogation about the killing, the OC added.
