US lauds Bangladesh for digital transformation

DHAKA, Sept 15, 2025 (BSS) - A business delegation from the United States (US) today lauded the Bangladesh government for its tremendous progress in digital transformation.

The delegation expressed hope to further strengthen mutual cooperation in the future.

The remarks were made during a meeting with Chief Adviser's Special Assistant on Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb at his secretariat office in the city, according to a press release.

The US trade delegation included Assistant US Trade Representative (AUSTR) Brendan Lynch.

During the meeting, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb highlighted ongoing development activities and investment opportunities in Bangladesh's IT sector. He emphasized international partnerships to develop Bangladesh as a hub for technology and innovation.

Both sides also discussed bilateral trade and investment relations, enhancing cooperation in the information technology and telecommunications sectors, data governance, electronic ID authentication, digital public infrastructure, cloud services, digital service ecosystems, personal data protection laws, and the potential of the digital economy.
