Legal action to be taken against fake July fighters: Liberation War Ministry

DHAKA, Sept 16, 2025 (BSS) – The names of fake July fighters will be removed from the list, a gazette will be published, and legal action will be taken against them, said a press release of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs today.

The press release said it has recently been observed that some media outlets have published reports under the headlines of fake July martyrs and July fighters. The reports have drawn the ministry’s attention.

The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs publishes gazettes on July martyrs and July fighters and carries out related activities, including the distribution of allowances.

The list of July martyrs and July fighters included in the MIS of the Ministry of Health and sent to the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has already been published in the form of a gazette.

The names of all fake July martyrs and July fighters have already been verified and removed from the list, with a gazette published accordingly, and the process is still ongoing.

In addition, the Directorate of the July Mass Uprising is re-verifying the names of all fake July martyrs and July fighters published in the media. If any are proven fake, they will be removed from the list and legal action will be taken in this regard.

The ministry is committed to preparing an accurate list of July martyrs and July fighters, the press release added.
