DHAKA, Sept 17, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today urged all including the party activists to remain vigil to thwart any conspiracies and sabotage in a bid to disrupting the upcoming Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindus.

Extending warm greetings to the Hindu community on the occasion, he stressed on maintaining communal harmony, a long-standing tradition in Bangladesh, according to a press release issued here.

The BNP Secretary General alleged that a vested interest group in an ulterior motive may create division and an anarchic situation in society through far-reaching conspiracies for political gain.

Fakhrul urged all irrespective of caste, creed and religion to remain watchful and thwart any such malicious intentions. "We have to strengthen that tradition (of communal harmony). The conviction must be kept intact," he added.

In this connection, he called upon the leaders and activists of BNP, its affiliates bodies and the general public as a whole to remain vigil to ensure security at all puja mandaps across the country for peaceful holding the upcoming Durga Puja.
