DHAKA, Sept 17, 2025 (BSS) – BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has extended warm greetings to the members of Hindu community ahead of Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of the community.

In a statement issued here today, he said Bangladesh has already established a unique example of religious harmony with the celebration of ‘Sharadiya Durgotsab’ without any hindrance with the cooperation of all.

But in the recent past, the beneficiaries of the fled dictatorship have tried to create a conflicting situation by destroying this traditionally established communal harmony through various misdeeds for evil and dishonest political purposes during the ‘Durgotsab’.

“We have seen a vivid example in recent times that even after the fall of the dictatorship, their conspiracies have not come to an end,” he said.

Tarique Rahman urged all to remain vigil at the highest level and stay prepared to thwart any such attempt.

The BNP acting chairman asked its party leaders and workers to provide maximum cooperation for peaceful celebration of Durga Puja across the country.

“We respect the religious rights of every citizen of this country. We are committed to maintaining religious harmony in Bangladesh and our position is firm and clear against any heinous attempt to destroy it,” he added.
