View-exchange meeting held on draft of 'Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha Ordinance, 2025

DHAKA, Sept 19, 2025 (BSS) –A view-exchange meeting was held at the conference room of Pani Bhaban here today to finalize the draft of the 'Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) Ordinance, 2025'.

The meeting was arranged aiming to gather feedback from stakeholders, a press release said. 

Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, attended the meeting, which was chaired by Adilur Rahman Khan, Adviser to the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.

Participants discussed key issues related to RAJUK development, including stakeholders’ participation in RAJUK’s decision-making, exchange of development rights, coordination with water bodies and related laws, RAJUK's board structure, strategic master planning, urban redevelopment and land reorganization.

Secretary of the Ministry of Public Works Md. Nazrul Islam, RAJUK Chairman Engineer Md. Riazul Islam, Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department Mohammad Shamim Akhtar and representatives from Dhaka South, Dhaka North, and Narayanganj City Corporations were present.

Urban experts and representatives from BUET, Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BIP), Bangladesh Institute of Architects (BIA), Bangladesh Poribesh Andolan (BAPA), and Bangladesh Environmental Lawyers Association (BELA) also took part.

The draft ordinance was presented by Dr. Md. Nurul Amin, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Works, along with RAJUK’s Chief Urban Planner Md. Ashraful Islam and Urban Planner Mahfuza Akhter.
